Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) is a unique opportunity for SVRSS students to learn about philanthropy and community involvement. It’s a great way for students to develop important skills and make a positive impact in our community.
The program provides a hands-on experience for students to work as a team, learn about the community’s needs and opportunities, build an endowment fund, and engage in the granting process, as a community foundation would. Through the program, students will develop important skills in grant making, community engagement, communication and teamwork.
Our Youth in Philanthropy Advisory Committee is comprised of a group of students from the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School, under the supervision of Teacher Kirsten Glen, with broad interests in philanthropy, the community and its future.
