The CFSV welcomes Tanya Powell to our Board of Directors.

Tanya has called Swan River home for the past 23 years. It’s where Tanya and her husband David have raised their children. Before this, Thompson was her home, where she grew up with two sisters and her parents.

Tanya has previously worked with David in the family auto industry, where she spent much time working with people in the Valley. Now working at the Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre as a Coordinator for Housing First, Tanya considers herself fortunate to be part of a team of people who give so much time to ensure our community has many available programs.

“I have sat on many boards throughout the years, including Swan Valley Daycare, Swan River Minor Hockey, and Swan Valley Soccer Association. Currently, I sit on Prairie Mountain Health Human Resources Advisory Committee, Indigenous Caucus Group, Reaching Home Indigenous Advisory Board, and most recently, Councilor for the Town of Swan River.”

“Swan River has been my home and has many great opportunities to offer those new and older; I look forward to being a part of the Swan Valley Communities Foundation, as it is also here for the goodness of our Valley.”
