The Swan Valley Animal Protection League mandate it to protect, shelter and promote animal welfare education and adoption of homeless animals to the best of their abilities. Currently, SVAPL provides rescue, health care and adoption services for approximately 100 animals per year.
The CFSV awarded the SVAPL a grant to complete the interior framing and finishing in the animal shelter building making it fully operational. This benefits the community by allowing SVAPL to continue and expand serving the Swan Valley area and surrounding communities by rescuing animals, promoting responsible pet ownership, and providing both education and volunteer opportunities around animal care and welfare.
With this facility now in place, SVAPL has space to further develop animal welfare education initiatives and a more structured volunteer program for youth. Improving animal welfare and promotion of population control in a community improves both public health and safety.
