Dwayne moved to Swan River in 1992 with his wife Denise and kids Brendon, Matthew, and Alyssa. He retired in 2015 in Swan River after 35 years as a Conservation Officer with the Province of Manitoba.

Dwayne has been a volunteer with many organizations in Swan River and joined the Community Foundation of Swan Valley Board of Directors in 2020. In 2023 he became the Chair of the Foundation.

Dwayne fills his days with fishing, golfing, curling, snowmobiling, boating, and keeping in reasonable shape so he can keep up to his energetic grandkids.
